Ah, driftwood, the water smoothed ghosts of trees gone by. Driftwood is beautiful, calming, and a great way to bring the outside in, which as our dear followers know is a thing we love to do. It is great stock for craft projects, no matter how ambitious, and fun in simple piles.
Taking things from the forest or beach is generally frowned upon, but in most jurisdictions you are allowed to remove a cubic yard of driftwood as long as it can be loaded by hand and isn’t embedded in the beach or dune banks.
When you’re at the beach, and a lot of you are today, grab a bit of driftwood and see how it feels in your home. Wash it off before you find the perfect place for it to remove smells, sand fleas or any other yuck that may have claimed it before you got there.
